ORIENTAL RUG CLEANING PROCESS
- Step 1: Pre-inspect the rug for no physical damage - such as moths, loose fringes, tears, and etc.
- Step 2: Dry vacuum front and back of rug to remove embedded dry soil.
- Step 3: Use an appropriate power pre-spray unit to apply the cleaning agent depending on fiber content.
- Step 4: First we will soft scrub the rug utilizing a rotary shampoo machine to loosen deep embedded soils. The same procedure will also be used on the fringes of the rug.
- Step 5: We will then thoroughly rinse the rug to remove contaminants and unwanted impurities.
- Step 6: Rugs will be hung up to dry, and once dry we will do an overall analysis - if necessary, certain areas will be re-serviced.
- Step 7: Finally, we will groom and detail the rug before delivery. Making sure pile is laying in original direction.

Oriental Rug Padding
As far as oriental rugs go, many of them are handmade and quite valuable. Based on this investment, the oriental rug needs the right rug pad. An oriental rug pad needs to be dense and solid so that it can protect the rug from premature wear and matting. Oriental rugs contain hand tied knots on the back of the rug. These knots are what keep the rug together. Since these knots are against a hard floor, it is important for them not to experience unnecessary wear and stress. The right oriental rug pad will act as a protective barrier between the knots of the rug and the hard floor, hence preventing any premature wear to the rug.
Our Premium padding is the best for oriental rugs. It pad contains recycled felt and it brings with it a layer of natural rubber. This rug pad is excellent for oriental rugs that tend to slip. Our Premium padding is made in the USA of a textured felt surface and a textured natural rubber lower surface. The felt prevents the knots of the oriental rug from rubber against the floor and the rubber prevents the rug from slipping. While there may be many "felt/rubber" rug pads available, many of them contain a synthetic rubber and polyprolpylene, a form of plastic. It is important that the non-slip rug pad for oriental rugs by recycled felt and only natural rubber, as this will not damage the floor.
